UK Privacy Policy
General principles

Security Policy
At Intelligent Events we are aware of, and take very seriously, the security and privacy issues surrounding the transfer of personal information and the use of payment facilities via the Internet. As a result, we have taken every precaution, including the use of Secured Socket Layer (SSL) encryption for the transmission of all sensitive personal information details. Our SSL server is certified by Comodo Class 3 Security Services CA, a public Certificate Authority. Comodo will only issue Digital Certificates to those servers which meet stringent security requirements. On this website no payment details are transferred using our server

As required by the UK Data Protection Act 1998, we follow strict security procedures in the storage and disclosure of information, which you have given us, to prevent unauthorised access. The security of your information also relies on your protection of your registration password. Please do not share your password with anyone. Intelligent Events representatives will never ask you for your password, so any email or other communication requesting your password should be treated as unauthorised and suspicious and forwarded to @intel-events.co.uk. If you do share your password with a third party for any reason the third party will have access to your personal registration information and you may be responsible for actions taken using your password. If you believe someone else has obtained access to your password, please change it immediately by logging in at www.intel-events.co.uk//login and change your password and also contact us right away.

Making A Payment
After you have made your online registration you can choose to pay by posting a cheque to the address above or by using a credit or debit card via the secure PayPal website. To view PayPal Privacy Policy and their User Agreement for PayPal Service please visit the PayPal website. There is a 3% fee for paying by PayPal online.

You may also register by phone or in person. In these cases your payment will be processed using PayPal virtual terminal, using the secure PayPal website. Their Privacy and Security policies can be viewed on the PayPal website. It is our policy to destroy all credit card details upon completion of a transaction. There is a 4.4% +20p fee for paying using a Credit or Debit card to register by phone or in person.

Privacy Policy
Protecting your privacy is important to us. We promise to respect and safeguard your personal information. We shall try to ensure that your details are accurate and kept up to date. We set out below how we use this information. We collect and use personal information to allow us to give you a quote or process your registration. Such information may include your name, address, telephone number, e-mail address, and work details. For phone and in person registration applications we may require your bank details and renewal date(s) as well as your credit or debit card number and expiry date. It is our policy to destroy all credit card details upon completion of a transaction.

We aim to ensure that the processing of personal data by or on behalf of Intelligent Events is fair and reasonable and that your personal data is secure, accurate and up to date. Generally speaking this means that each time we want to collect personal data we must tell you the purposes for which we use the data and then ask for your consent to that usage. We only use your data for the purposes for which you consent.

What Information we Collect and Why
Intelligent Events collects information about our users, suppliers and other individuals it deals with in its day to day business. This information includes contact, registration and payment details. It is used for administration and to support, improve and obtain feedback on Intelligent Events activities and to prevent and detect breaches of Intelligent Events network security, the law or our contract terms.

We may also in the future, for the same purposes, update this information and collect similar information from any direct contact with such individuals and automatically via the individuals' use or participation in or of Intelligent Events services and activities.

Where allowed by law Intelligent Events may collate information about individuals which it receives from others with the information we obtain directly from them. The information described above may be retained and used by Intelligent Events after an individual ceases to use Intelligent Events services or the individual has ceased dealing with us.

Intelligent Events will also use all this information to assess what Intelligent Events activities, products, services, initiatives or ventures may be of interest to individuals and to personalise the service we provide. If you are registered with Intelligent Events, Intelligent Events may contact you to obtain feedback on that service or activity and any improvements we could make to it.

If you agree that Intelligent Events may contact you about those of its services which may interest you by mail, fax, email and (in certain limited circumstances) by telephone from time to time. Transfer of Data to Third Parties
Except where the law permits or unless you agree, Intelligent Events does not sell or rent your personal data to third parties. In some instances, we may pass information to third parties involved in the execution of a relevant Intelligent Events event. You will generally know if such a transfer of your information happens, except if the third parties are simply working on our behalf as administrators (such as companies that process credit card payments) or if the data is required to be disclosed by law on to a regulator.

If we sell a business division to another company and your personal data is used by that business then your data may be transferred to the buyer along with the business for them to use in the same way.

Substitution and Cancellation Policy
Refunds on cancellations will only be issued (less a 20% administration charge) up to and including 14 days prior to the event. Refunds will not be issued after this date however you can send a replacement. Confirmation of cancellations MUST be in writing and sent to Intelligent Events at the address below
